I BELONG TO MY FAMILY
SCRIPTURE READING:
Genesis 4:1-9
INTRO: This is the second in a five part
series entitled, “I BELONG”.
I. THE FAMILY WAS THE FIRST INSTITUTION TO BE
CREATED.
Gen. 2
A. God created Adam and then created Eve.
B. The first family fell into sin.
Gen. 3
C. The first murder took place within the family.
Gen. 4
II. FROM THE FIRST FAMILY HAS COME ALL OTHER
FAMILIES ON EARTH.
A. From Adam and Eve came Seth.
B. Seth’s blood line to Jesus is traced in
Luke 3.
C. Seth led to Noah and his 3 sons.
D. From those three sons have come all succeeding generations.
G. God taught a lot about family responsibilities and relationships.
III. JESUS KNEW THE IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY IN HIS
OWN LIFE.
A. He was born into a special family.
B. Joseph obeyed the Lord.
C. Jesus taught us who his family was.

IV. JESUS TAUGHT MUCH ABOUT OUR BELONGING TO OUR
FAMILY.
A. He taught about God’s original plan for marriage.

D. He was even concerned about His mother in His dying hour.
