MEET THE HEAVENLY FATHER!

SCRIPTURE READING: JOHN 1:1-14

I.  THE HEAVENLY FATHER IS REVEALED TO US IN THE OLD TESTAMENT.

   A. The Bible begins with the fact of the existence of the Father.

   B. Genesis 1:1 contains some great facts.

   C. Our universe consists of a space/time/matter element.

   D. The one-God concept as manifested in the Trinity is early in

        Scripture.  Gen. 1:2; John 1:1-14; Col. 1:17

II. THE HEAVENLY FATHER IS SEEN AS THE ORIGINATOR OF THE PLAN.

   A. Genesis reveals the perfect creation of God. Gen. 1

   B. But then the man and woman failed in the Garden. Gen. 3; Romans

        3:23 & 5:1-2

III. THE HEAVENLY FATHER BRINGS IT ALL TO FRUITION.

   A. God’s knowledge would introduce the plan of salvation.

   B. God would institute the “Scarlet Thread of Redemption.”

IV. THE HEAVENLY FATHER HAD A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SON.

    A. With the existence of Christ in the Trinity there must have been a

        literal “Heavenly relationship”.

    B. Jesus’ coming was fully in the will of the Father. Gal. 4:4; I Tim.

        3:16;  Psalm 40:7-8; John 4:34; Matt. 6:10; Luke 22:42

V. THE HEAVENLY FATHER WANTS TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH US.

   A. All of this is to say that God is a personal God, not only with His Son

       but with us too!

   B. God sought man to turn to Him.

   C. And God is still seeking for man to come to Him today!
