Let’s Put Jesus First In Our Lives!

In Matthew 6:30 we have that great admonition by our Lord Jesus to put Him First in our lives. What does it mean to you to put Him first in your life? Below is the first verse and the chorus to a song written by J.D. Murch in the 1930's

Quote:

The world all about me has now no allure
Its pleasures bring pain, Its wisdom is vain
I seek a foundation that's steadfast and sure
I'll put Jesus first in my life

In all that I say, In all that I do
Thro'out the world of toil and strife
By day and by night, Thro' trust in His might
I'll put Jesus first in my life

Satan is alive and well--he seeks to destroy the child of God. We are bombarded on every side by his evil doings.

We must remember the words of the Apostle John in I John 2:15-17--We cannot avoid being "in the world" and seeing all the evil around us. As the lyrics to the song I gave-- it is foolish to think that the world has no allure--it does greatly to those outside of Christ, and we who are HIS must not let the values of the world dictate how we live.

As "The Church's One Foundation is Jesus Christ, her Lord..." we must look to the Word of God for our foundation. He has promised to be with us always and He has, through the Holy Spirit given us the Word of God--Let's use it as "The Whole Armor of God" (Eph. 6:10-18)

When we "are on the Lord's side"--we are on the winning side--Let's enjoy the abundant life Jesus offers, not the easy and deceiving life Satan offers to those who love the world.

Yours in  the Blessed Hope (Titus 2:13)
