Heaven is permanent
Heaven is a wonderful permanent
place, are you going to be there? There
is a growing tendency to believe that
all good people, whether or not they
consider Jesus Christ to be their
Savior, will live in Heaven after they
die on earth. In
1999 the public was almost divided on
the matter: 53% agree, 40% disagree.
This represents a significant change
since 1992, when 40% agreed with this
notion and 1994 when 46% agree, 47%
disagree. Half of all adults (51%)
believe that if a person is generally
good, or does enough good things for
others during their life, they will earn
a place in Heaven. Yet notice what the
Bible has to say about Heaven.
Heaven is defined as the eternal dwelling place of God. 2 Corinthians 5:1 tells us that Heaven is where Christians will dwell with God as well . All those who have confessed Christ before men, Repent of their sins, have been baptized for the remission of sins are raised to a new life in Christ and are found faithful in Christ will go to Heaven.
The Bible describes Heaven as a place of Rest. Revelation 21:22, Hebrews 4:9-11 and Revelation 14:13. This is a major contrast from Hell. Scripture points out that Hell is a constant place of unrest. Heaven is rest for our souls.
The Bible also states that Heaven is a better dwelling place or a better country. Just think of it, no more sin, no more death, no more sorrow, no more evil, and no more of things that break our heart. Hebrews 11:16 says that the faithful long for a better country. The idea in this verse is Heaven is far better than anything we can ever hope for or imagine upon this earth. The best way that the Apostle John could describe it is that we will walk on streets of Gold.
Heaven will also be a place of fellowship. First we will have fellowship with God. The Bible tells us that we will walk with God Revelation 21:3 and we will ever be with the Lord, 1 Thessalonians 4:17. Second we will have fellowship with others who are in Heaven. We will be with one another who have been saved by Christ as we see in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 and Matthew 8:11. The Bible points out that people like Moses, Elijah, and Lazarus will be some of the people we will have fellowship with in Heaven.
As one continues to read about Heaven in the Bible it is place with many rooms or dwelling place John 14:2. Which means that it is place prepared for many people. Heaven is also described as a place with unending joy John 14:22. Heaven is also called paradise in 2 Corinthians 12:4 and Revelation 2:7.
Heaven is a wonderful place I cannot wait to go! What about you, are you going to be there? It is true one day we will all die and then go to meet our eternal reward. Where will that be for you? Eternity is permanent don’t make the wrong choice.
